Security Increased at U.S. Airports as Precaution

The Department of Homeland Security is responding to a recent article that was published in Inspire Magazine, Al-Qaeda’s publication. The article describes how to make homemade bombs from household products.

A few weeks ago, searches were ramped up for illegal items at U.S. airports. In fact, once passengers go through security checkpoints, TSA officers will be more involved in random passenger and luggage searches. Officers are searching for non-metallic IED’s that are only detected by full body scanners. This technology is expensive, so smaller airports don’t have it.

These added security measures are precautionary as there have been no credible information presented to suspect anything will happen.
