Betafence Acquires Intellectual Property Rights to Gibraltar US Products

Betafence has announced that it has acquired the intellectual property rights to cable-based anti-ram crash fences, barriers and gates from Gibraltar US. This development enables Betafence to pursue its growth strategy in the USA as well as enhancing its comprehensive offering to global customers in the Oil & Gas, Defense and Energy sectors.

Gibraltar US has assigned to Betafence all of its worldwide rights, title and interest in cable-based anti-ram crash fences, barriers and gates as well as designs, patents and certificates. Betafence will also have the right to continue to market these products globally under the Gibraltar brand.

Bill Neusch, president of Gibraltar commented, “Having enjoyed a successful partnership in the market since 2011, we are pleased that Betafence will be able to continue the innovation of these cable based crash fences, barriers and gates. Gibraltar will now continue to focus on marketing its other safety products.”

Michele Volpi, CEO of Betafence stated, “The patented, certified and field proven portfolio of Gibraltar cable-based anti-ram crash fences, barriers and gates are a key addition to our perimeter security solutions offering. These products complement the physical access control systems that we acquired with SecureUSA in 2014. Having worked as Gibraltar’s exclusive distributor outside the US for the past 3 years, we have further strengthened our ability to deliver comprehensive perimeter security solutions for critical infrastructure projects in all markets.”
