Apprio Appoints Sallie Sweeney as New Chief Information Security Officer

Apprio has announced the appointment of Sallie Sweeny a chief information security officer. Sweeny is regarded as an information security field expert and brings more than 18 years of technology experience to Apprio.  According to a news release, Sweeny will oversee Apprio’s enterprise corporate information security program and the company’s government contract security services program.

Prior to joining the company, she worked as security director for General Dynamics IT, where she managed a team of 16 security professionals and was responsible for nearly $1 billion total contract value for CMS engagements. Sweeney served as systems security officer for six significant CMS contracts and was responsible for security oversight and contract deliverables for more than 30 FISMA systems.

“With years of interactions with key CMS stakeholders, such as TRB consults and multiple auditing engagements, Sallie has established a great reputation of being customer-focused and brings a deep understanding of security requirements to Apprio that will greatly benefit our customers,” said Darryl Britt, the president of Apprio, in the news release.

Sweeney has multiple certifications, including Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Project Management Professional (PMP).  She plans on using her extensive knowledge of the information security field to bring needed revisions to the company.

“I look forward to implementing security programs and continuous monitoring programs to bolster Apprio’s security posture and to incorporate metrics that are tailored to our organization’s objectives,” Sweeney said. “Apprio is developing technology solutions that add real value to its customers, as well, and I’m excited to support this important mission.”
