Ready for Vegas

Well, the day has come for ISC West. I'll be leaving very early this morning in order to land in Vegas and (fingers crossed) make it to the show in time for the keynote.

This year, Scott Phemister, Jeff Reider and Steve Tiffany – all from Paramount Pictures – will be the speakers responsible for kicking off the tradeshow. With an hour to hear how one of the oldest American movie studios has to take security of assets into account when dealing and working with celebrities around the world, well, let's just say I'm really excited. They'll also discuss business continuity, ROI, situational awareness, and more. It's bound to be an amazing presentation.

After that, I'll be attending the official Grand Opening Ceremony that takes place in the entrance of the exhibit hall, which is sponsored by Allegion. I've heard amazing things about the press events of ISC West, and so I can't wait to be able to experience it firsthand. I'm sure it will be nothing less of extraordinary.

The rest of my time will be spent on checking out new products, new companies, and catching up with some colleagues. It will be great to see what new things are out there in the security world, just waiting to be noticed and perhaps published in a future issue of Security Products magazine. Although my schedule is pretty full for the duration of the show, companies are more than welcome to email me at [email protected] about new products or Online Exclusives.

I hope everyone has nice and safe travels to Vegas, and I'll see y'all there!

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
