Monitronics Donates $20,000 in Security to Local Women's Shelter

Last month, Monitronics’ Director of Human Resources and member of Women with Promise, Stacy Young, spearheaded the donation of $20,000 in security hardware and monitoring to the Agape Women’s Shelter, including new professionally-installed, monitored security systems throughout the shelter and in all of the residents’ homes.

The shelter’s mission is to provide critical housing and life skills that empower single women and their children to transform from homelessness, crisis and poverty to self-sustaining, fulfilling lives. Women with Promise has made this year’s mission to improve the safety and security for the residents of Agape, and Monitronics was eager to help in any way it could.

“We are humbled to help the women of Agape, and to make a difference in the lives of our fellow Dallas-area residents,” said Bruce Mungiguerra, Monitronics Senior Vice President of Operations. “These women often face unimaginable struggles on a daily basis. We are grateful for the opportunity to bring safety and security back to their lives, along with our generous industry partners, Alarm.com and Nortek, who joined us in donating some of the products we installed.” Monitronics has been based in Farmers Branch, TX since its inception in 1994 and has more than 1.2 million customers across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

Janet Collinsworth, Founder and Executive Director of Agape had the following to say about the donation, "This is amazing! What a priceless gift for women who are trying so hard to overcome living each day in fear. One of our women had to have three locks between the outside and her bed in order to sleep. All our of women are healing from various degrees of abuse and living in a safe place is a critical part of their healing."
