It's only day two of ASIS and I feel like I have seen it all. The show floor was energetic and lively with all the product demonstrations, but what caught my eye were the new products. The newly-released innovations that will surely impress those in attendance at ASIS. While I did see many new products, here are the top three that were introduced to me. Don't miss out on these new products on day two!

Morse Watchmans AssetWatcher

Building on its full line of key and asset control products and technologies, Morse Watchmans demonstrated its new AssetWatcher solution at booth #3651. Ideal for use in schools, universities, casinos, hospitals and other high-security applications, AssetWatcher uses RFID technology to track assets that are placed in or removed from lockers.

AssetWatcher's RFID technology uses non-contact wireless radio links to recognize tagged assets. It is also compatible with multiple types of RFID tags for use with different types of assets, and features an audible confirmation when a tag has been read. As a result, AssetWatcher is able track multiple items within a locker and can track all types of tagged assets, including electronics and metal objects. Featuring the same reliable, easy-to-use interface as the company's popular KeyWatcher® Touch, AssetWatcher includes a bright 7" touchscreen and incorporates the MorphoTrak optical fingerprint reader for strong security.

Dortronics Smart Interlock Controllers

Dortronics showcased their recently released 4800 Series Smart Interlock Controllers this week at booth #3915. The highly versatile and economical interlock controllers can be user configured in the field to accommodate up to five doors with ample flexibility for various input/output configurations.

The 4800 Series features twelve field assignable inputs and seventeen configurable relay outputs for maximum flexibility. Additional design features include a unique watchdog circuit that constantly monitors operation; LED indicators for input-output connection status; voltage spike and surge protection on all outputs; and adjustable propped door, panic release and door unlock timers. The 4800 Series is available as a board only module or complete with a heavy duty 4-amp power supply.

Promise Technology Storage Servers

Promise Technology, a Security Products New Product of the Year Award winner, announced that its two new network video recorder (NVR) storage servers, the Vess A2330 and A3340, are now available in North America.

With video surveillance traffic on track increase tenfold by 2020, storing all of this data in a way that it can easily accessed, analyzed and retained for long periods of time is more important than ever. Promise's Vess A2330 is a 2U 6-bay NVR that offers low latency recording for entry-level deployments of up to 35 cameras per system. The Vess A3340 is a powerful 2U 8-bay NVR designed for mid-sized surveillance deployments of up to 80 IP cameras.
