Shooting at Great Lakes Dragaway Leaves 3 Dead

Shooting at Great Lakes Dragaway Leaves 3 Dead

Three men were killed in a shooting at a Wisconsin dragstrip last Sunday night.

Three men from Illinois were shot to death Sunday night at the Great Lakes Dragway in Wisconsin, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office said.

Over 5,000 people were attending an event, Larry’s Fun Fest, which in the past has been known to attract people from many of the surrounding states.

At 6:59 p.m. local time, police responded to a “shot fired” call at the auto racing facility. They were notified that three people had been shot. Two of them died at the scene and a third died en route to the hospital.

The suspect in the shooting is described as a black man. Witnesses say the man walked up on the three victims, who are also African American, at a food vendor stand and shot them at close range.

At this time, police do not know the type of weapon used in the incident. It is also unknown what might have caused the shootout.

All three of the victims are known to police as gang members, but police have no evidence to prove the shooting was gang-related at this time. They are investigating the possibility that the shooter was a rival gang member.

There is no information on what security measures were taken at the event so far. The only information on the racing facility’s website is policies against alcohol inside the track.

Police were able to respond to the call pretty quickly and evacuate the motor speedway quickly.
