Get Involved in the Action

There are so many activities; both learning and just for fun during ISC West, I'm sure it is difficult to know what to do with your time.

I've got a few of educations ideas that I'd like to share with you. I think they will be worth your time.

My first event started at 8 a.m. this morning as I attended the Axis Media breakfast. I know it's an invite only but it's a nice way to start off ISC West. Axis always has a handful of new products and innovations, and with Martin Gren sitting behind the innovators desk, you can always expect something new.

Tomorrow morning, Allegion is opening the day with a talk on trends. They have brought in four of their highly prized subject matter experts for an exclusive panel discussion on industry trends and emerging technologies. Their panel includes Brad Akin, Robert Gaulden, Mark Jenner and Devin Love.

EventProtek is presenting a program titled Invasion of the Drones: Should We Be Afraid Yet? This event is part of the show's Unmanned Security & Safety Expo Complimentary Education program, and is scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m. Presenters are Mark Eklund and Nimo Shkedy. What I like about this is that the solution is developed by experts from Israel Defense Forces. This event will be held in the Rear of Hall A.

Mercury Security also is hosting a panel on cyber hardening access control systems. Titled, "How to Deploy a Cyber 'Hardened' Access Control System for Enhanced Security, the event will take place tomorrow from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Sands 302, Level 1 room. The conversation will be led by Bill Bozeman and Sal D'Agostino.

To top off this first day at ISC West, I big thank you to Alan Forman, Altronix, for a kickoff dinner that has become an annual event for media, dealers and friends. Thanks again, Alan.
