ESA Opens 2020 Scholarship Applications for Children of First Responders
The first-place winner will be honored with their parent at the ESA Expo in June.
The Electronic Security Association (ESA) is now accepting entries to its 2020 ESA Youth Scholarship Program — a philanthropic endeavor that aims to support the futures of children of first responders.
To give back to this group that so positively impacts the communities around us, ESA developed the Youth Scholarship Program, which has contributed over $700,500 to deserving high school seniors who hold a commitment to excellence and are inspired by the work their first responder parent(s) do in the line of duty each day.
Students will be entered into the first round of scholarships and all state winners (including the ESA first round winner) will receive a monetary award and be automatically enrolled to receive an additional national scholarship (first place: $7,500 and second place: $2,500).
Awards are based on a combination of academic achievement, test scores, extracurricular participation and the essay submission, which focuses on what it means to have a parent or guardian involved in securing communities.
The first-place winner will be honored with her/his first responder parent and presented with a check before the industry at the Electronic Security Expo on June 11, 2020 in Nashville. Students should apply at the ESA's website by April 10 to be considered.
