Kentucky Man Faces State Federal Explosives Charges

A Kentucky man in possession of firearms, body armor and possible explosive has been arrested at a University of Kentucky hospital in Lexington.

Local police received a tip that suspect Bryan Carroll was in the area and was considered “armed and dangerous.” Police in Versailles KY, contacted university police Chief John Monroe that the man was near the hospital, allegedly to visit a family member. Carroll is facing multiple state charges as well as pending federal charges.

There were no injuries and Carroll was taken into custody without incident as he was exiting the medical facility. Lexington police, FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are part of the response and investigation.

Monroe said the suspect was deemed as armed and dangerous and, “was taken into custody quickly, efficiently and without any harm to anyone, including himself.”

Police officers believed that Carroll has explosive devices in his car, and was also found in possession of firearms and body armor. It is not known if there was intent to use the devices, though he is in custory.
