ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Traka Americas Donate Security Equipment to Give Kids the World Village

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, a provider of advanced security technology for the hospitality industry, alongside ASSA ABLOY Group Member, Traka Americas, have combined their resources and expertise in order to donate the latest in security innovation to the Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee, Florida. A non-profit organization with a mission to provide critically ill children and their families with dream vacation experiences, Give Kids The World Village can now ensure heightened enjoyment and relaxation by guaranteeing enhanced safety and minimizing potential security risks.

Benefitting from a decades-long relationship with ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, Give Kids The World Village has consistently been able to keep pace with evolving trends and standards in property security. This is due to both the proactive guidance of ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions technicians as well as the scalable design of the company’s various solution offerings. For the most recent donation, the Village was able to update each of its 166 villa door locks to VingCard Classic RFID in addition to multiple onsite venues, bringing the total locks installed to 216 alongside the installation of eight remote readers. By simply adding an RFID reader to existing locks and without requiring any hardware replacement, the Village is able to protect its guests with the latest in keycard data encryption technology. By leveraging RFID-enabled locks, guests staying at the Village not only gain enhanced peace of mind but can now also sidestep inconvenient keycard demagnetization issues that can leave them locked out of their units.

“With children and their families coming to us from around the world to take a break from medical procedures and instead have some fun, working with the right technology providers to achieve that experience for each family is an absolute must,” said Ian Cole, Chief Innovation Officer at Give Kids The World Village. ”Both ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions and Traka Americas continue to demonstrate their unmatched value to us through advanced technologies that protect our guests while boosting our service efficiency and quality. Thanks to our many years of working together, Give Kids The World continues to hold a reputation as a place where families can build fond and lasting memories, and we look forward to continuing to deliver on this mission in close collaboration with both companies in the years ahead.”

As part of the latest security upgrade project, VingCard Classic RFID’s adoption was also joined by the implementation of an advanced key management solution by Traka Americas. By using the platform, Village leadership and employees can maintain enhanced accountability over who has access to specific keys and physical assets. The solution is also able to monitor and track when a key is taken, used and returned, preventing lost or stolen keys from degrading into an increased security risk.

Those factors all play a role in deciding how to configure a surveillance system, and how to effectively implement technologies like AI. Read Now

  • The Stage is Set

The security industry spans the entire globe, with manufacturers, developers and suppliers on every continent (well, almost—sorry, Antarctica). That means when regulations pop up in one area, they often have a ripple effect that impacts the entire supply chain. Recent data privacy regulations like GDPR in Europe and CPRA in California made waves when they first went into effect, forcing businesses to change the way they approach data collection and storage to continue operating in those markets. Even highly specific regulations like the U.S.’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) can have international reverberations – and this growing volume of legislation has continued to affect global supply chains in a variety of different ways.
