ISC East, Security Industry Association Announce SIA Women in Security Forum Keynote Speaker Series
ISC East, in collaboration with premier sponsor the Security Industry Association (SIA), have announced the keynote speaker for the SIA Women in Security Forum (WISF) Keynote Series event at ISC East 2023. Theresa Tobin, chief of interagency operations for the New York City Police Department (NYPD), will headline the Nov. 16 WISF Keynote Series breakfast event during ISC East.
The ISC East Keynote Series is open to all badge holders at ISC East. In addition to the keynote presentations and new for 2023, ISC East attendees can access an expanded three-day SIA Education@ISC East conference program with more than 30 compelling sessions on the most current business trends and latest developments impacting the industry.
Theresa Tobin joined the NYPD in 1983 and began her career on patrol in South Jamaica, Queens. She was promoted through the ranks to her current title of chief of interagency operations. Tobin has served as the commanding officer of the Behavioral Health Division, the Office of Collaborative Policing and Staff Services Section and as the executive officer of the 1, 10 and 13 Precincts. She earned a Ph.D. and Master of Arts in criminal justice, a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Science in sociology/social work and has been a New York State certified social worker since 1985. Tobin is also a graduate of the FBI Academy, Columbia University’s Police Management Institute and Harvard University’s Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program. During her career, Chief Tobin has received numerous honors and medals, including and the NYPD’s Medal of Valor and a Special Congressional Recognition in honor of her heroism, bravery and sacrifice during the tumultuous events of Sept. 11, 2001, when she risked her own safety to rescue several individuals during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

During the WISF Keynote Series event – presented by SIA’s Women in Security Forum – Tobin will deliver an impactful keynote presentation, and attendees will also enjoy premier networking, coffee, tea and grab-and-go breakfast options.
