Q-and-A: Paxton Chief Commercial Officer Gareth O’Hara

We recently sat down with Paxton’s Chief Commercial Officer Gareth O’Hara to talk about the company’s growth and plans for the US market. O’Hara recently relocated from the UK to the US to help the company’s growth plans.

Q: Paxton opened its new HQ in Greenville, SC this year–what do you feel has been the defining milestones in the company’s journey so far?

A: There have been a number of milestones along the way, I would say that the new facility is up there, it talks to our long term commitment to the US security market, providing world class premises for our employees and future proofing our long term ambitions of being a market leader in the US.

Q: Looking ahead, what strategic priorities will shape Paxton’s next chapter in the global security market, and even more, specifically in the US?

A: Delivering products and solutions that meet the requirements of today and the years to come specifically for the US market is at the top of our development priority list. Alongside that would be ensuring that we have selected the right channel partners who support our commercial strategy

Q: How is Paxton responding to emerging trends in access control and building security, particularly around cloud, unification, and integration?

A; I believe we are well positioned with products in our current offering as well as what we have planned for release in 2026. We currently have our Net2 platform that integrates with a multitude of other building management and security systems. Our Paxton10 platform utilizes cloud services for a number of it’s key features such as multi-site management and remote access. 2026 will see many new releases of Paxton products, including the release of our Paxton10 API, which opens up many new opportunities for our customers.

Q: The security industry is increasingly focused on user experience and simplicity, how is Paxton balancing advanced functionality with ease of use?

A: User expectations continue to evolve, the availability of access to the internet is now a given, meaning device connectivity is becoming almost without limits, AI is changing the landscape in terms of access to information and mobile technology is utilized in everyday life. The combination of these trends is reshaping what is possible, functionality that once required significant investment into infrastructure can now be experienced from a handheld device. With such changes comes opportunity for manufacturers like Paxton, opportunity to create useful ways for users to take advantage of these changing technologies in the security space.

Q: What role do you see innovation and new product development playing in maintaining Paxton’s competitive edge? Any new products in the pipeline?

A: Innovation remains at the heart of what Paxton is, we have been working away diligently to be able to introduce a whole collection of new products to market in 2026. Watch this space for some exciting announcements in the new year.

Q: Finally, what would you like US partners and customers to know about Paxton’s goals, values, and what they can expect as we expand across the American market?

A: At Paxton, our mission is clear — to make access control technology simple, intelligent, and dependable. As we continue expanding across the U.S., our focus is on building meaningful partnerships and delivering solutions that truly make a difference for installers and end users alike.

Our values are what set us apart. We believe in innovation with purpose, in designing products that solve real challenges, and in standing behind everything we create with integrity and genuine support. Paxton has always been about people first — our partners, our customers, and the communities we serve.

As we grow our U.S. presence, we’re investing heavily in local teams, training, and infrastructure to ensure that our partners have everything they need to succeed. The American market is dynamic and full of opportunity, and we’re excited to bring Paxton’s trusted technology and customer-first approach to even more businesses across the country.
