Rehoboth Tech Announces Embedded Iris Authentication Products
Rehoboth Tech, a specialist in biometrics, especially in iris authentication systems, recently announced the release embedded iris authentication products. The company introduced three different iris authentication products at ISC West -- Irikon system security module, Irikon stand-alone door lock and Irikon flash memory. In contrast to other existing iris technologies that require heavy computing power and connection to a server, Irikon embeds iris technology in a small chip or module and does not need to be connected with servers or other computer devices but operates on a totally independent platform. Irikon is powered by a combination of optical technology and recognition algorithms.
Irikon system security module is designed to protect system log-on access from unauthorized users for notebook PCs, mobile PCs and PDAs. This module enables the devices to be activated after the ris authentication process so that the data within the device can be protected. The Irikon system security utility pops up before operating systems, such as Windows, is read into the system so the device can be protected by the highest level of security. The iris recognition microprocessor and the software embedded within allows for convenient and secure user authentication management.
Irikon stand-alone door lock is designed for residential and small office environments which implements the embedded iris door lock system. The door lock does not need to be connected with a computer or external electric power lines because it is powered by its own microprocessor inside the system and also powered by internal batteries.
Irikon flash memory is flash memory that implements iris authentication and ensures confidential data in the flash memory is secured by the iris authentication process. No one other than the pre-registered user can access the data within the flash memory without taking the iris authentication process. Users do not need to recall passwords but simply gaze into the iris camera on the flash memory to activate.
“Identity and security has become the most important topic in IT and security business,” said Jonathan Kim, CEO of Rehoboth Tech. “Biometrics is the ultimate answer for this topic and that is why we invented Irikon technology.”
