Cernium Unveils Analytics Application Software Suite For Video Management Systems

Cernium Corp., developer of video analytics-enabled products, recently announced the launch of its next-generation Perceptrak software, which seamlessly integrates with leading video management systems to provide full-spectrum, intelligent video analytics capabilities to enterprise-class IP video surveillance installations.

Cernium will demonstrate Perceptrak at ISC West at Booth No. 9057.

Milestone Systems' XProtect Enterprise video management software is the first in a planned series of world-class video management systems to be fully integrated with the new Perceptrak application.

"As analytics become an essential tool for proactive video surveillance, there is a very real need for them to be available on all cameras, all the time," said Craig Chambers, president and CEO of Cernium Corporation. "This new generation of Perceptrak makes that goal a reality with an unprecedented combination of power, flexibility and ease of operation at an affordable cost."

The new Perceptrak builds upon Cernium's P-Core video analytics engine operating on the company's powerful, efficient High Density Analytics Server appliance. P-Core enables any combination of behaviors to be detected on any camera, thereby adapting to a wide range of environments and security policies for real-time, automated 24x7 monitoring. By adding metatags to user-defined events of interest, Perceptrak can also retrieve critical information from hours of video within seconds to support investigations or the management of risk and business operations.

Perceptrak's open standards software operates on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) computing hardware and scales with video management systems as IP video networks continue to grow. The result is lower cost of ownership and the flexibility to evolve along with changing security requirements.

  • Evolving Cybersecurity Strategies

Organizations are increasingly turning their attention to human-focused security approaches, as two out of three (68%) cybersecurity incidents involve people. Threat actors are shifting from targeting networks and systems to hacking humans via social engineering methods, living off human errors as their most prevalent attack vector. Whether manipulated or not, human cyber behavior is leveraged to gain backdoor access into systems. This mainly results from a lack of employee training and awareness about evolving attack techniques employed by malign actors. Read Now
