Israel Diamond Exchange Taps Orsus For Situator Product Suite

Orsus, together with Orad, a security systems integrator, has recently been awarded a contract for its Situator product suite, with the Israel Diamond Exchange Ltd. (IDE).

Situator provides a seamless integration between thousands of access control/intruder detection devices and cameras spanning three buildings, bridges, trading rooms and hallways. On any given day, 10,000 people can visit the IDE and must use biometric fingerprint readers to gain entrance into the facility. Security personnel monitor entrances and exits by surveillance from its command and control room.

“Situator will meticulously track and monitor all authorized personnel and any visitor allowed in the building, and enable executing the precise actions demanded by the situation at hand,” said Gilad Chitayat, director of international sales from Orsus. “Without a doubt, Situator is well-suited to implement IDE's policies and procedures facilitating better and faster decision making in protecting the organization's valuable products.”

The IDE complex, located in Tel Aviv, houses about 1,000 offices of diamond merchants. These offices all pertain to the industry institutions such as the Diamond Exchange, the Israel Diamond Manufacturers' Association and the Israel Precious Stones Exchange and the Diamond Controller's Office. The IDE also includes a customs office, a polished diamond trading hall, a rough diamond trading hall, banks, shipping and courier services, insurance firms, a post office branch and various other commercial services.

With Orsus’ Situator, the IDE can integrate incident reporting, simulate security-related events for training purposes and integrate system analysis tools to provide better planning and continuous improvement.

Situator is a comprehensive Situation Management software platform that delivers clarity and control to enterprise control rooms -- enabling better coordination of the interaction between people, alerting sources and responses.
