Genetec, HID Global Announce Fargo Printer Partnership

Genetec recently announced that it has partnered with HID Global to provide a full line of Fargo brand card printing solutions for its IP access control solution, Synergis.

Genetec, a long-standing OEM development partner of HID Global, will now carry the HID Fargo brand’s full line of card printers and associated supplies and accessories. This will complement Genetec’s existing offering, which includes HID’s full line of Edge and VertX Network Access Control solutions, cards and readers.

“Genetec’s offering is appealing because it focuses on the latest technologies for IP-based access control and video surveillance security,” said Eric Widlitz, managing director, Americas for HID Global. “IT and security managers will see an appealing value proposition from the complimentary relationship between Fargo's Ethernet-enabled printers and Genetec’s IP access control solution.”

Based in Montreal, Genetec employs more than 200 people worldwide. With warehousing facilities in Canada, the United State, and EMEA among others, Genetec is able to meet customer demand for all access control and card printing solutions across the various regions.

“Our partnership with HID further enhances Genetec's IP access control product offering, and specifically, Synergis’ integrated badge design functionality by supporting high-end printing capabilities,” said John Joyce, director of business development for Genetec’s Synergis IP Access Control Solution. “Access to HID’s printing solutions will also benefit Genetec’s success in the small, medium and large business segments, as well as the education market.”

Synergis is an enterprise class IP access control solution with a unified security interface that seamlessly integrates access control, badge design and production, video surveillance, alarm management and visitor management, among other security functions.
