GE Chief Security Officer To Keynote ESX 2009

Francis X. Taylor, vice president and chief security officer for the General Electric Co. (GE), will provide the keynote address for the 2009 Electronic Security Expo (ESX) on the morning of Wednesday, June 24 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore. His topic is “Local Solutions for Global Security Threats.”

Few know more intimately how the global threat matrix and challenge of security has changed in the 21st century than Taylor. A former head of security for the U.S. Dept. of State, charged with worldwide protection of U.S. embassies, consulates and State Dept. personnel, and a senior advisor to the President on counterterrorism in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001 World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks, Taylor has unmatched insight into the security problems faced both by America’s governmental institutions and its largest and most critical businesses.

In this keynote address Taylor will outline the threats that most occupy the minds and budgets of governmental and corporate security decision makers and recommend strategies for integration and monitoring companies to become security solution providers of choice to these markets.

“We are thrilled to have one of the most accomplished security experts in the world presenting the keynote address for ESX 2009,” said ESX Chariman George DeMarco. “As important, Frank Taylor’s presentation will provide the integration and monitoring companies that attend ESX practical insights into how they can become solution providers to government and large business clients facing the ever dangerous and diversifying threats of global terrorism.”

“GE Security is pleased to sponsor the ESX keynote again in 2009,” said Dean Seavers, president and CEO, GE Security. “Following last year’s presentation by former NFL great Cris Carter and his brother John regarding the launch and development of Carter Bros., this year GE’s Frank Taylor will offer his unique insights into what it takes to secure the largest of government institutions and businesses in a threat-burdened world.”
