Axis Opens Online Training To General Public

Axis Communications recently announced that it is opening its in-depth online training, Axis Communications Academy to the general public.

With the ongoing migration from analog CCTV to IP-based surveillance there is a constant and growing demand for education on the latest technology innovations and applications. Axis has been offering its customers and partners training courses on the different aspects of IP surveillance at various Axis Communications Academies around the world for several years. However for a variety of e-learning courses it is no longer necessary to be a partner to take part. Anyone interested can now log on to the academy site at http://www.axis.com/academy/ and register for these free online courses.

The modular courses cover a variety of topics including design, services and understanding specific products. The e-learning courses are currently available in English, apart from the Axis Camera Station course which is also available in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, Dutch, Korean and Taiwanese.

According to a recent IMS study, security integrators are shifting their focus from installation to analysis and design, having identified this area as a new and more profitable revenue stream.

“We conducted a global survey and found a clear trend in the demand for design focused courses,” said Lars Åberg vice president of marketing for Axis Communications “Systems designers, more than anyone else, are looking for comprehensive courses which cover a wide range of competencies. We offer the course Tools and Resources for System Designers, amongst a number of others, all of which can be attended online at anytime from anywhere in the world.”
