Springtime In Las Vegas

I always know spring is right around the corner when security industry people are planning for ISC West, and I start receiving press releases for the newest products. Look out Las Vegas, the security industry is about to invade Sin City.

As we ramp up to return to Las Vegas, here are a few examples of products on the way, and this is by no means the only products you will find, but a random sampling of what’s taking place next week.

HID Global will be showing the latest solutions for the delivery of secure identity. Company officials will preview their next generation access control technology as well as developments in the federal identity initiative. You may also remember that HID Global recently purchased Actividentity and LaserCard, and company officials will be sharing insight into these acquisitions.

JVC is announcing a major launch of 11 IP network cameras. I haven’t heard much from JVC lately, but company officials will be on hand to discuss developments and trends in the security industry.

I’m also planning a quick meeting with Alarm.com, who is introducing an energy management and home automation solution. This, coupled with the company’s Web-enabled residential security and monitoring technology, should provide an interesting combination.

Here are only three quick examples of what will be found at ISC West. There are hundreds of answers to your security questions. Manufacturers are excited about their solutions, and I’m thankful to be able to attend this prestigious tradeshow to learn more about security applications and solutions.

Hope to see you there.
