SightLogix CEO to Moderate Infrastructure Protection Panel at SIA Government Summit

John Romanowich, president and CEO of SightLogix Inc., will moderate a panel discussion on critical infrastructure protection at the 2011 Government Summit presented by the Security Industry Association (SIA) June 21-22 in Washington, D.C.

Romanowich, who is chairman of SIA's Working Group on Chemical Security, will lead the panel discussion titled “Emerging Threats and Infrastructure Protection Mandates.” The panel will include representatives of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Nuclear Energy Institute and the American Public Transportation Association.

“Threats to various elements of the nation's critical infrastructure continue to emerge, and our approaches and mandates must be directed to mitigate those threats,” Romanowich said. “The panelists at the Government Summit are at the center of the conversation and will bring their unique insights and expert perspectives.”

Confirmed speakers for the critical infrastructure panel include Todd Klessman, branch chief (acting), infrastructure security compliance division, Department of Homeland Security; Gene Gwiazdowski, senior product manager, security, at the Nuclear Energy Institute; and Greg Hull, director, security and operations support at the American Public Transportation Association.

The SIA Government Summit, to be held June 21-22 at the Phoenix Park Hotel in Washington, D.C., will address how government affects the security industry through legislation, regulations and procurement. High-level speakers will include participants from Congress, federal agencies, the security industry and the media. Summit speakers at this year’s event include Thomas Cellucci, chief commercialization officer of the Department of Homeland Security; and Jonathan Cofer, deputy director, Pentagon Force Protection Agency. Topics will include HSPD-12, aviation security, the Federal Cloud Computing Initiative and the status of homeland security funding. The “Emerging Threats and Infrastructure Protection Mandates” panel will be held from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. June 21.
