Peter Harlick Joins AE Ventures to Accelerate ESX and ESI Forum Growth
AE Ventures announced today the hiring of Peter Harlick as its new director of business development, security. In this role, Harlick will head up the sales for the Electronic Security Expo (ESX) and the ESI Forum.
Harlick began his sales and marketing career in publishing in 1996 and has worked for major media and publishing firms including Universal Media, Advanstar Communications and Cygnus Business Media. From 2002 to 2008, Harlick was directly involved with the Cygnus Security Group and its Security Dealer & Integrator magazine. In his role as sales manager and publisher, he helped electronic security suppliers develop winning communications, advertising, marketing and public relations strategies. While publisher, he sat on the board of directors for the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association, currently known as the Electronic Security Association, as the associate member representative. He also served on the marketing committee for the Central Station Alarm Association.

Not only experienced in security media but also an actual practitioner, Harlick has spoken at industry events on the subjects of pandemic preparedness as well as securing soft targets from acts of terrorism. At the inaugural ESX, Harlick moderated a panel on security tools & best practices. From 2008 to 2011, Harlick worked in sales, marketing and management roles with private security firms, most recently with G4S Secure Solutions USA (formerly Wackenhut) out of Charlotte, N.C.
Through his 10 years of hands-on security industry and media experience, Harlick has a solid understanding of the needs of the integrators, monitoring companies and end-users. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communications, with minor concentrations in marketing and advertising, from the State University of New York at Oneonta.
