One Grand Conference

I hope your ISC West 2012 experience was as good as mine. It was a wonderful conference, complete with premier education sessions and today’s latest technologies.

My Friday experience was filled with companies I’ve not visited with before to learn more about the offerings and products.

Let me share a few.

Based in Austin, Texas, Smarter Security brought to the expo an innovative entrance control by launching Fastlane Connect. These optical turnstiles offer TCP/IP communication and control that streamlines the operation, service and support of installed lanes.

The Fastlane GlassGate 150 is ready for shipment can be embedded with IP technology as an optional feature. Fastlane Connect also provides customers with performance benefits for the turnstile. Technicians can remotely obtain diagnostic information for IP-connected units. Performance issues may not be known to a customer and require further attention.

Code Blue offers end users a new multi-modal notification system. With this system, Code Blue has moved further into electronic and virtual notification with the addition of these capabilities, including email messaging, SMS/text messaging, computer desktop alerts, common alerting protocol interoperability, RSS feeds, social media alerting, and digital and electronic signage.

Also in the software world of physical security, American Fibertek has released its Pilot v.5 video management system. It delivers advanced system functionality and broader industry compatibility, while the newly developed AFI-2089 virtual keyboard does all the heavy lifting.

The software includes the complete line of Panasonic cameras and DVRs, Samsung’s complete camera and DVR line, the full line of Arecont Vision cameras and full integration with Pelco’s Endura lineup. Pilot v.5 also is includes full Keyscan access control integration and POS workstations integration.

Quotes of the Day:

“This has been a well attended conference with a lot of people who had projects searching for the right products and the right fit,” Marcia Visser, director of communications, Code Blue.

“It seems attendance is up and buyers are serious about products and technology. People are here for the real reason,” John Steen, attendee.
