Port Authority Adds New SightLogix Video Analytics System

The Jacksonville, Florida Port Authority (JAXPORT) is installing a SightLogix smart thermal video analytics system.

The thermal SightSensors provide clear, detailed thermal images during the day and night, and can detect intrustions in complete darkness. The camera can accurately detect when a person enters as secure area. Once it detects the intruder, the system determines the exact location of the intrustion and can automatically steer Pan Tilt Zoom cameras to zoom in and follow the person using PTZ tracking.

“Port security requires accurate, cost-effective situational awareness over expansive outdoor areas,” said John Romanowich, SightLogix president and CEO. “SightLogix systems have been designed specifically for these types of applications. We’re pleased to have been selected by JAXPORT after their thorough evaluation of our capabilities.”

The SightLogix system will be deployed at several JAXPORT locations. The system will serve as a valuable tool to apprehend vandals, thieves and potential terrorists.
