BOMA Conference Attendees to Learn about Mobile and Wireless Security Technologies

Attendees at the BOMA Conference Attendees to Learn about Mobile and Wireless Security TechnologiesBuilding Owners and Manufacturers Association’s (BOMA) Every Building Conference and Expo, taking place at the San Diego Conference Center June 23-25, will gain insight in wireless and mobile technology and platforms. Rick White, vice president and products business leader of electronics at Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, is a featured lecturer at the conference that includes the latest trends in near field communication (NFC), radio frequency identification (RFID), Bluetooth and mobile credentials used for payments, access, messaging and asset tracking. White’s lecture, named “BYOD – Bring Your Own Device” takes place on Monday, June 24, at 2:00 pm in Room 4 of the Convention Center.

“Attendees will learn how others are using wireless capabilities and smart phones to shape their security and access strategies to increase client/customer satisfaction and safety, improve business efficiency and increase revenues,” explains White. “We will discuss simple ways to implement wireless and mobile solutions.”

Wireless access control systems are less invasive, often eliminating carpentry, patching and repainting. This makes them ideal for difficult-to-wire, upgrade situations. These systems also reduce installation time by up to 50 percent, system costs by up to 25 percent or more, and disruption to the facility during installation.

Using NFC-enabled smartphones, office building tenants will be able to use their smartphone just like they use an ID credential or credit card. As a result, they won’t have to remember and manage multiple cards, personal identification numbers (PINs) or additional ID credentials.

The enhanced convenience of using smartphones extends to the administrators in charge of access control systems. Rather than having to print physical cards for each tenant when they enroll, a mobile key gets issued online by the administrator, directly to their phone, at any time, saving staff time, administrative costs and the expense of printers, ink, card inventory and other needed supplies. While improving the service provided to tenants, it also extends revenue sources to vending machines, pay-by-use systems such as copiers, and other services that can add to owners’ bottom lines.

Attendees can also stop by the Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies Booth 1202 to learn more about security solutions and enroll in a drawing for a free iPad mini.
