Avigilon Secures Liberty Public School District

Avigilon Corporation, a provider of end-to-end security solutions, announced the Liberty Public School district has deployed its end-to-end Avigilon security solution, including access control and high-definition (HD) video surveillance, to improve school safety, accelerate incident response times and save on time and cost. Located in Clay County, Missouri, the Liberty Public School district is the second fastest-growing district in the state, with 19 schools serving 11,800 students.

“With thousands of students spread across 22 facilities, safety is a top priority at our schools district-wide,” said Curt Laven, technology specialist, Liberty Public Schools. “The Avigilon solution enables us to manage both building access and video surveillance easily from any location, which means we can respond to incidents faster. We are confident that Avigilon’s simple, yet powerful tools will enable us to provide the safest school environment possible.”

Liberty Public Schools deployed the end-to-end Avigilon solution, including Avigilon’s Access Control Manager (ACM), HD cameras and user-friendly Avigilon Control Center (ACC) video management software, for a complete, all-in-one security platform. Seamlessly integrated with the district’s IT system, Avigilon’s ACM controls access to Liberty Schools’ facilities and keeps the district’s employee database current by linking ACM to its Active Directory. As a result, the district is able to save on the time and cost of maintaining its system, onboarding new employees and restricting employees’ access quickly and easily. In addition, more than 300 Avigilon HD cameras and analog video encoders monitor critical locations across the district and provide clear image detail that can be used as evidence, if necessary. Together, ACM and ACC offer a single, unified platform for effective management of all aspects of the district’s security.

“The Liberty Public School district is one of the most progressive in Missouri and is known for its innovative and comprehensive safety policies,” said Bryan Schmode, chief operating officer, Avigilon. “Avigilon’s Access Control Manager and high-definition surveillance solution are key factors in maintaining and improving safety at each school in the district. Combining its forward-thinking practices and the Avigilon solution, the district has set a new standard of security for school campuses of all sizes worldwide.”
