AMAG Technology Releases Symmetry v8.0.2 at ISC West

AMAG Technology announced the release of Symmetry v8.0.2 access control software. Symmetry v8.0.2 software offers end users a complete unified, end-to-end security solution to manage all security and complementary technologies in one place via an intuitive user interface.

“We are continuing with our commitment to our integrators and end users to improve our access control feature set and video capabilities with each software upgrade,” said AMAG Technology Product Manager, Andy Goodwin. “Having the Symmetry v8.0.2 access control software as a FICAM-complaint, GSA approved solution provides AMAG the opportunity to work with federal agencies and help them meet current PACS standards.”

Smart card standards continue to tighten to counter growing physical and cyber threats and the US government has made it mandatory that all access control products meet Federal Identity Credential and Access Management (FICAM) standards.  Symmetry v8.0.2 allows the matching of a full 128 bit number stored on specific card types. This is particularly important for US Government customers and other customers moving to PIV-I and CIV credentials. The number comes in two forms: UUID and 128 bit FASC-N and is essential for GSA FICAM approval.

The Symmetry v8.0.2 video management module now supports integration with OnCam Grandeye’s Evolution 360 degree camera range. The Evolution camera continuously records an entire 360 degree area to provide total situational awareness, while allowing users to zoom into an area of interest.OnCam Grandeye’s OnVu 360 Mobile app is also available for iOS and Android mobile devices to monitor the Evolution 360-degree cameras in full HD and in the palm of your hand.

Symmetry v8.0.2 added features that will simplify the installation process and enhance the reliability of Symmetry Global, the software of choice for organizations spread over a number of geographically dispersed sites that run autonomously, yet benefit from centralized administration. Symmetry Global can now be used by mobile entities that may go out of range for a period of time and operate autonomously, and then return later for synchronization.

Symmetry v8.0.2 supports the newly released Symmetry HD EN-7530HD Indoor Ultra Compact Dome IP camera and Symmetry EN-7567HD Indoor/ Outdoor IR Bullet IP camera. The complete Symmetry range of advanced network cameras provides full HD technology, H.264 video compression, and built-in advanced video analytics to meet any video surveillance need.

When installed with the Symmetry SR controller range, Symmetry v8.0.2 supports the new Symmetry F2F reader family. The F2F card reader is compatible with new Symmetry systems and legacy access control systems supporting supervised F2F protocol. It supports a range of both proximity and smartcard technologies.

Symmetry v8.0.2 added a merged access code feature to improve the way access permissions download to door controllers. Users can now add advanced rights to the standard rights, for example in situations where an employee needs access to a different part of a building on a temporary basis.

Security administrators can now allocate card holders to card readers with time codes that overlapped each other, simplifying the installation process.
