Uplink Introduces New Service for 2GIG Security and Automation System

Numerex Corp announced that Uplink Security, a source in the security industry for alarm communicators since 1996, and Nortek Security & Control recently completed the integration of the firmware of Uplink with the firmware of Nortek's 2GIG GC2 panel, allowing alarm dealers to easily pair the GC2 panel with Uplink's proven and reliable suite of home security services. Uplink is powered by Numerex, one of the industry's most trusted and reliable security-industry wireless alarm communications solutions providers. The 2GIG GC2 panel is one of the most popular home security and automation platforms in the industry. The alliance of Uplink and Nortek to build and create a solution for the Smart Home was a key initiative.

This new solution enables alarm dealers to offer expanded security services from 2GIG's GC2 panel, an all-in-one security and home management system. These services include features such as two-way voice, remote home control and automation, notifications and event history, schedules and reporting options in addition to existing Uplink Remote services such as video monitoring and dealer branding. All features are accessible to dealers and users through UplinkRemote, a secure web portal and mobile application. Uplink for 2GIG systems will offer three solution options to dealers nationwide: cellular only, broadband only, and broadband with cellular service plans.

"With the rise of the connected home, we are seeing a continued increase in demand from our alarm dealers and central stations to deliver enhanced security and home automation solutions to their customers," said Kelly Gay, Numerex's president of security solutions. "This latest version of 2GIG GC2 firmware allows dealers to choose the latest in Uplink technology when deploying 2GIG security and automation systems."

"We are pleased to continue to work with Uplink to deliver advanced security solutions nationwide," said Rob Halligan, vice president of marketing for Nortek Security & Control. "As the maker of the 2GIG GC2 panel, the world's most popular security and home control system, we take very seriously the delivery of the best experience for our end users and dealers. This partnership reflects that mission of quality product experience for our customers, as Uplink is a trusted source in the alarm industry with a proven track record. We look forward to continued success with them."
