New FLIR TCX Thermal Bullet Security Camera Delivers Superior Intrusion Detection 24/7

FLIR Systems, Inc. is proud to announce the new FLIR TCX Thermal Bullet, the first class of security cameras to feature high-performance, high-resolution thermal technology for the best intrusion detection and visual awareness in daytime or nighttime conditions. Powered by FLIR’s industry-leading TAU thermal camera core, the TCX Thermal Bullet combines 24/7 high-contrast thermal video and high-performance built-in video motion detection with strong integration flexibility.

The TCX Thermal Bullet delivers two resolution options: 480 x 360 resolution with a 90° lens, and 320 x 240 resolution with a 50° lens and user-selectable 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios. No matter which resolution or lens, the camera outperforms visible-light security cameras by providing the advantage to see clearly in complete darkness without any illumination, in bright sunlight, and through smoke, dust, or even light fog.

“FLIR’s high-contrast thermal imaging technology makes the TCX Bullet more reliable than traditional sensors and visible cameras,” said John Distelzweig, vice president and general manager of FLIR’s Security Segment. “The camera produces video imagery that clearly shows a difference in temperature between the detected intruder – whether it be a person, animal or moving vehicle – and the camera’s field of view in the background. High-contrast video coupled with our high-performance VMD gives you superior intrusion detection with a significant reduction in false alarms, making it an extremely accurate solution for many applications.”

Compatible with ONVIF Profile S IP, MPX (HDCVI), and analog systems, the TCX Thermal Bullet has the flexibility to easily install into any new or existing system. The cameras can easily integrate into any environment, indoors and out – even in temperatures as cold as -40°C – making them ideal for ensuring safety of public buildings, industrial facilities, large and small businesses, or residential areas. Featuring both intrusion detection and accurate video alarm verification in one device, the camera also supports lighting control, people counting, retail traffic flow, and queue management, and enables a whole range of other applications.

The TCX Thermal Bullet is the latest addition to the TCX security product line that launched with the TCX Thermal Mini Bullet in April. The TCX Thermal Bullet is immediately available for purchase through distribution channels.
