Samsung First to Market with New Camera-enabled Height Marker

Samsung Techwin America is setting a new standard for commonly used height markers with today’s launch of the SNB-H-6010 Camera Enabled Height Marker. Designed with a discreet on-board 2 megapixel network HD camera and advanced motion detection, the SNB-H-6010 delivers important visual information instantly to help identify and apprehend suspects.

“Samsung Techwin’s video surveillance products are based on cutting-edge technology solutions that provide added value, and the ability to deliver practical solutions to longstanding security issues. Our new Height Marker is a perfect example,” said Tom Cook, vice president of Sales, Samsung Techwin America. “Its design is also an example of how Samsung addresses the broadest spectrum of users’ and resellers’ continually changing needs.”

The SNB-H-6010 is ideal for use in convenience stores, bank branches and other small retail environments. The camera’s 180-degree field of view, WDR (wide dynamic range) and micro SD/SDHC/SDXC memory slot help to ensure that all the action is discreetly captured and its multi-streaming capability allows important images to be transmitted to various authorized personnel. The covert camera will help law enforcement officials to quickly and accurately verify the identity and height of suspects, and may provide more useful and accurate images because of its location and angle of view when compared to images from ceiling-mounted dome cameras. The easily installed Height Marker is powered by 12V DC or PoE and features a durable aluminum construction and highly visible color-coded height levels. It fits most standard door frames and is available in white, black or silver.

In a related action, the company also announced the release of the SNB-J-6010 Doorjamb camera. This alternate model has the same features and functionality of the Camera-Enabled Height Marker, but comes without the highly visible height marker. This arrangement makes the camera ideal for use in small business and office doorways, and similar locations where an unobtrusive camera would contribute to the security of the location.
