Hitting a Homerun

Spending three days in Las Vegas at ISC West, anyone attending had to get the feeling that the security industry is alive and well. There was synergy.

From a press release I received from Ed Several, part of the ISC brain trust, SIA has hit a home run. I love baseball, and I'm going to agree that this tradeshow hit an all-time high.

"As usual, the number and quality of attendees at ISC West continues to amaze us," said Tom Cook, vice president of sales at Hanwha Techwin America. "The announcement of our new name has been very well received by the industry, as evidenced by the foot traffic in our booth, which is the best we've ever seen."

Feedback from exhibitors and vendors about ISC West 2016 has been overwhelmingly positive, which should come as no surprise given attendance numbers and the depth of the conversations taking place on and off the show floor.

From my calculations and numbers gathered by our editorial staff, we walked about 11 miles each day, from booth to booth. My shoes are worn out and my feet finally getting back to normal. Thursday morning's 5K run and 2K walk, raised $95,000 to support Mission 500. This group supports children and communities in crisis. We can't do enough to help this very worthwhile charity.

I hoop you enjoyed ISC West as much as I did. I got to meet a lot of new people; and enjoyed visited with long-time friends. I'm very excited about the ongoing prospects of a terrific 2016 business year.
