Not a Newbie Anymore

I didn’t know what to expect at my first ISC West, but this year it was different.

Last year was my first time at ISC West and on top of that, I had only been working in the security industry for six months when I took my first trip out to Sands Expo. I didn’t know what to expect, but when I came out on the other end I knew that I had become apart of something great.

Last year I wrote in my editor’s note that I was surprised by the passion and enthusiasm that each booth greeted me with. I’ve learned this isn’t a sentiment applied to newbies at ISC West, it’s just how this industry is.

One of my favorite parts about a show like this is to finally be able to fit a name with a face. Just like many others, I’ve probably sent out or received an email from half the people at this show but it is so much better to sit down face-to-face with a company and really talk about the topics we’ve been brimming over in an email. It’s exciting to make connections in conversations that normals don’t get to happen.

For me, ISC West is the best time of year because I get to see the newest innovations, the hottest trends, the new partnerships and the best of the best when it comes to the security industry. This show really embodies the character of this industry and you should all feel proud to be apart of it.

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
