Minneapolis Airport TSA Fails 95 Percent of Security Tests

A covert group was able to breach security 17 out of 18 times.

An alarming finding at one of the nation’s busiest airports is revealing weak security practices by TSA agents.

Agents from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Inspector General regularly pose as travelers and attempt to bring in prohibited items such as weapons, explosives or drugs into the secure areas of airports. Unfortunately, the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport TSA agents failed 95 percent of the security tests.

A covert group, known as the “Red Team,” tried their luck at the Minneapolis airport, smuggling in various contraband through security. The team reportedly breached security successfully 17 out of 18 times.

Usually, to protect weakened airports from further attacks, the findings of these tests are not normally shared to the public but the result of the security tests on at the Minneapolis airport were leaked late last week.

This isn’t the first time Minneapolis has been on the list of weakened airport security. Back in April of 2016, a source told Fox News that the same airport had failed nine of 12 security tests.
