Allied Universal Video Provides Training to Help Stop Human Trafficking

Allied Universal is announcing that it is providing Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) with an online video training to the company’s more than 300,000 security professionals.

The Truckers Against Trafficking training will assist Security Professionals working with law enforcement in the recognition and reporting of human trafficking, in order to aid in the recovery of victims and the arrest of their perpetrators.

“Our Security Professionals are the eyes and ears of the world who are on the front line of service each and every day,” said Brent O’Bryan, senior vice president of Training & Organizational Effectiveness at Allied Universal. “We are proud to align with Truckers Against Trafficking to ensure that our security professionals are expertly trained to recognize and combat human trafficking.”

TAT believes education and awareness about the realities of human trafficking are key to shifting cultural and societal views that will protect victims and survivors and create opportunities for long-term impact. This is especially important for those in positions with a high likelihood of encountering victims (transportation, justice system, law enforcement/security, education professionals and healthcare workers.

“We commend Allied Universal for their leadership in recognizing the important role that security professionals can play in the fight to end human trafficking due to the many ways that they may come into contact with victims or traffickers in the course of their work,” said Annie Sovcik, program director, Truckers Against Trafficking.  “By partnering with Truckers Against Trafficking to provide this vital coursework to their security professionals, they will play a critical role in combating one of our nation’s greatest human rights violations.”
