Hanwha Techwin Highlights Full Line of Intelligent Surveillance Solutions at ISC East

Hanwha Techwin is highlighting a diverse range of intelligent video surveillance solutions during ISC East 2022, Booth 701, at New York’s Javits Convention Center, Nov. 16 - 17.

Visitors to the Hanwha Techwin booth will see products powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning to increase operational efficiency and improve search accuracy; and dual-channel, multi-sensor cameras that allow security teams to do more with one device. Hanwha will also feature a new intercom system to mitigate the safety risks from high-touch surfaces and a new advanced license plate recognition solution.

The Hanwha Techwin products on display at ISC East include:

Wisenet X and P Series AI cameras
The addition of AI and Deep Learning technologies to Hanwha Techwin cameras, including the P and X Series, further enhances their performance and efficiency. Surveillance camera operators are bombarded with too much information, and too many false event alarms, especially if they are using conventional cameras with motion-based pixel detection. The P and X series cameras detect and classify distinct objects, filtering out irrelevant motion triggers to focus only on people, objects and vehicles, and generate only the events users need to see. This leads to faster, more effective forensic searches and enhanced operational efficiency. Camera models featured include:
• XNO-6083R - 2MP AI IR Bullet Camera
• XNV-8093R - 6MP AI IR Long focal-length Vandal Dome
• PNV-A9081R - 4K AI IR Outdoor Vandal Dome
• XNF-9013RV - 12MP AI IR Fisheye Camera
• XNV-8083RZ - 6MP AI IR PTRZ Vandal Dome

WiseDetector extends the capabilities of Hanwha’s Wisenet P series AI to detect user’s specific objects. WiseDetector uses Device Manager is trained to collect images of the target object and train the Machine Learning model on the new object. When WiseDetector is uploaded, it can use the existing video analytics on the camera to trigger live events.

Wisenet AI Multi-sensor Cameras are AI-powered, dual-channel, multi-sensor cameras deliver enhanced image quality and strengthened cybersecurity, with options of 6MP x 2 or 2MP x 2 resolutions. The new PNM-C12083RVD supports 15fps image capture and true 120dB WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) without compromising the frame rate for each of its 6MP sensors.

Motorized vari-focal lenses offer a focal range of 3.54–6.69mm for flexible field of view adjustment in each direction. Similarly, the new PNM-C7083RVD supports 30fps with 120dB WDR for each of its 2MP sensors. The camera’s motorized vari-focal lenses support a range of 3.0–6.0mm.

TID 6000R intercom is driven by an increased awareness of the safety risks from high-touch surfaces; the TID-600R Network Intercom Station delivers a public health-focused security solution. With a slim form factor, the new station features a unique, touchless call system. Users simply hold their palm within six inches of the station to initiate a call. The station fully supports SIP 2.0 and can easily integrate with a range of VMS, access control, SIP phones or PBX servers. In addition to its no-touch benefits, the intercom station incorporates a two mega-pixel fish-eye lens for an expanded field of view and a tilt-angle mount, further setting it apart from competitive models.

The Wisenet Road AI solution features a new line of Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) cameras that support Make, Model, and Color Recognition (MMCR) to identify vehicles using AI technology. The cameras, together with a powerful edge-based application, support real-time viewing, event monitoring, forensic search and a range of widgets and graphs that display daily/weekly/monthly traffic statistics.

With multiple types of classifications including car, SUV, van, light commercial vehicle, truck, bus and motorcycle, users can search based on a number of attributes including date/time, license plate, photo, type, brand, model and color. The application can support up to 10,000 detailed records, including images of plate and vehicles, on the LPR camera’s internal SD card.

  • The Evolution of IP Camera Intelligence

As the 30th anniversary of the IP camera approaches in 2026, it is worth reflecting on how far we have come. The first network camera, launched in 1996, delivered one frame every 17 seconds—not impressive by today’s standards, but groundbreaking at the time. It did something that no analog system could: transmit video over a standard IP network. Read Now

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
