Russian Hackers Attempting to Use ChatGPT for Malicious Use

While OpenAI’s ChatGPT tool features a number of safeguards, that’s not stopping hackers from trying to make use of the tool for malicious intent.

Currently, OpenAI is not allowing anyone from Russia, China, Egypt, Iran, Ukraine, and others to use the AI technology. But according to a recent report from Check Point Research, Russian cybercriminals are attempt to bypass those restrictions.

The company found a number of instances in underground hacking forums where cybercriminals were discussing how to circumvent IP addresses, payment cards, and phone number controls that are needed to use the AI tool.

According to the company, cybercriminals are likely interested in using the technology to make hacking more cost efficient.
