New Technician Scholarship Program Debuts at ISC West

i-PRO awards training grants to 19 recipients in Las Vegas to help bridge the skilled labor gap in the physical security industry.

i-PRO Americas Inc. is addressing the critical shortage of skilled labor in the physical security industry through the launch of its new Security Technician Scholarship Program. The initiative, which debuted at ISC West 2026, provides recurring opportunities for aspiring technicians to receive professional training and hands-on experience.

The program focuses on equipping participants with the practical skills necessary for careers in security installation and support. By targeting students in technical and vocational programs, such as those at the College of Southern Nevada, i-PRO seeks to create a sustainable pipeline of job-ready professionals for the industry.

As part of the ongoing curriculum, scholarship recipients engage in a blended learning model. This includes foundational online coursework followed by intensive, four-day hands-on training sessions. Participants learn the mechanics of IP networking, access control and video technology, while gaining direct experience with AI-driven analytics and video management software.

The scholarship program is designed to shorten the onboarding process for integrators, who often lack the resources to train new hires from the ground up. By providing foundational technical knowledge before a technician reaches a job site, the initiative helps mitigate the impact of a retiring workforce.

Moving forward, the program will continue to identify and support new cohorts of technicians, offering them exposure to industry-leading technology and networking opportunities with established integrators at major trade events.
