TMA Names Chris Mahoney Director of Certification

The Monitoring Association appoints a veteran credentialing manager to lead its professional certification and workforce programs.

The Monitoring Association has appointed Chris Mahoney as its new director of certification, a newly established leadership role aimed at driving workforce development and expanding professional credentials.

Mahoney will oversee the growth and evolution of the association's certification portfolio, which includes the Five Diamond, FirstNet and IQ programs. He is tasked with creating new credentialing opportunities to support professional advancement within the professional security monitoring and response industry.

With more than a decade of experience in certification and program management, Mahoney previously served as senior manager of program development for the National Apartment Association. In that role, he managed training programs for more than 10,000 professionals annually, launched micro-credential initiatives and oversaw exam development.

His professional background also includes serving as director of career and program development for the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando, where he focused on workforce partnerships and expanding industry certifications.

The creation of the director of certification position aligns with the association's strategic initiative to strengthen the monitoring industry through education, professional recognition and standards-based excellence.
