Miami Fire Rescue Deploys Tech for 2026 FIFA World Cup
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue is using Blackline Safety cloud-connected monitors to track potential air hazards at FIFA World Cup matches.

The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department has equipped the city’s host stadium with advanced connected safety technology to protect spectators, athletes and event staff during the FIFA World Cup matches and festivities.
Up to one million fans are expected to attend the tournament events in Miami.
The security infrastructure features eight connected area monitors provided by Blackline Safety, a global leader in connected safety technology. The devices are positioned throughout the stadium to continuously monitor the air for potential hazards.
High-stakes environments like the World Cup require emergency responders to prepare for a wide range of risks, including accidental incidents and intentional chemical, biological or radiological public safety threats. Connected to a cloud platform, the technology provides incident commanders with real-time visibility into atmospheric conditions, allowing rescue teams to respond immediately to any abnormalities.
Of the eight devices deployed, four are EXO 8 area monitors, which are equipped to detect up to eight gases plus gamma radiation. The remaining four are G7 EXO models.
The monitors transmit data live over a cellular network to software that acts as a central command platform for the fire crew. The system features long-lasting battery power designed to prevent downtime throughout the tournament.
This deployment reflects an increasing reliance on connected safety technology in public event security. Fire departments and emergency management organizations are expanding their use of cloud-connected monitoring solutions to achieve greater visibility, faster communication and improved coordination during major planned events and emergency operations.
Data from the platform is also being used to inform the Joint Special Operations Command, a coordinated group of security agencies that includes local police and the FBI.
Blackline Safety worked with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue throughout the planning and deployment phases to configure the system, support implementation and verify operational readiness before fans arrived at the stadium.
