Denmark Chooses Terma for Nationwide Counter Drone Defense System

The Danish military will integrate existing and future sensors into a unified situational map powered by AI data processing.

The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation has selected defense contractor Terma to deliver an integrated command-and-control system for counter-drone defense.

The contract establishes a shared drone situational picture across the Danish Armed Forces and other national authorities. While Denmark currently operates sensors across military sites, civilian agencies and critical infrastructure, those systems have historically functioned in isolation.

The new capability centers on Terma Helion, a data backbone designed to link distributed sensors into a single network. The software ingests sensor feeds and converts raw data into operational intelligence to support tactical decisions at both local and central levels.

The platform also incorporates command-and-control software from OSL Technology, a firm acquired by Terma in 2025. The combined system fuses data from radars, third-party sensors and countermeasures while using artificial intelligence to classify, prioritize and track potential threats.

Designed with an open, modular architecture, the system allows Denmark to retain control over operational data while incorporating hardware from multiple suppliers. The scalable framework is designed to protect military installations, commercial airports, seaports, energy facilities and government buildings.
