Genetec Expands Global Market Share in Video Management Software

Independent research reveals Genetec outpaced sector growth to secure top rankings across key global security regions.

Enterprise physical security software provider Genetec Inc. expanded its global market share in video management software and software as a service, according to independent industry research published by Omdia and Novaira Insights.

Data from Omdia indicates Genetec achieved 20% growth in the video software and video surveillance as a service market, outperforming the overall sector's 13.3% expansion. During the same period, major competitors holding the second and third positions in global market share saw revenue results remain flat or decline.

Market analysts credit the momentum to shifting enterprise requirements. Organizations updating physical security infrastructure are increasingly favoring flexible open platforms that unify on-premises, cloud and hybrid architecture under a single management system rather than relying on proprietary, single-deployment models.

Independent findings from Novaira Insights further positioned Genetec as the top global provider of video surveillance software and service agreements. The firm's regional data showed Genetec maintained its position as the top supplier in the Americas for the 15th consecutive year.

The report also highlighted momentum in international regions, noting Genetec recorded the highest market share growth among the top 10 vendors across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while securing a top-three placement across the Asia-Pacific region, excluding China.
