March Networks and VIVOTEK will demonstrate transit security technology linking vehicle surveillance with monitoring at stations and depots at the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) TRANSform Conference & EXPO in Chicago, October 5-7.
The companies plan to show tools for investigating incidents, monitoring drivers and recording activity while vehicles are parked and switched off.
One feature, Attribute Search, allows investigators to locate footage using details such as a person’s clothing color or a vehicle’s type. Other analytics support detection of driver distraction and fatigue, passenger counts and checks for people remaining aboard vehicles.
The demonstrations will also include recording equipment, cameras and software for overseeing video from fleets and fixed locations. Additional tools provide cloud-based intelligence and management of recorded evidence.
March Networks supports some of North America’s largest and most complex public transit systems, including one with a fleet of nearly 2,500 vehicles. More than 100,000 VIVOTEK IP cameras are installed annually aboard buses, trains and ferries.
