Zenitel Launches Connect Essential for Small Facility Security Systems

A new communication platform provides enterprise-level audio and intercom integration for installations with up to 16 devices.

Unified critical communication provider Zenitel has introduced Zenitel Connect Essential, an audio management platform engineered for installations requiring up to 16 endpoints without platform licensing fees.

The system integrates intercoms and IP speakers onto a unified architecture previously limited to larger enterprise installations. The platform addresses a common operational challenge in physical security, where voice communication, entrance control and public address hardware frequently function in disparate, siloed networks.

Zenitel Connect Essential utilizes the same cybersecurity framework, user interface and integration standards as the company’s enterprise-tier platform, Zenitel Connect Pro. Facilities deploying the entry-tier platform can transition to the Pro tier via license upgrades as site requirements expand.

Deployment options include running the software on Zenitel’s proprietary ICX-510 intelligent communication gateway or within a virtual machine environment. Operators and systems integrators can also integrate optional cloud-based remote monitoring and maintenance tools under a separate service license.
