Codebench, Inc., a provider of TWIC / HSPD-12 / FIPS-201 authentication and physical access control middleware, announced recently that it has integrated its PIVCheck Plus software with RedCloud Security Management Software. RedCloud was formerly known as PlaSec.
Data from independent research, Effective Management of Safe & Secure Openings & Identities, released from Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, a global provider of security and safety solutions and manufacturer of Schlage contactless smart credentials and readers, shows 82 percent of public, private and two-year specialized colleges and universities believe they are not very effective at managing safe and secure openings or identities.
Highlights include a new software security patch management service, a full suite of identity access management features and options to increase physical security – all configured for the Datacard MX Series card issuance systems.
The Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 required the Department of Homeland Security to secure America’s ports by implementing regulations that prevents most individuals from having unescorted access to secure facilities and vessels. The law mandates that all individuals who qualify for unescorted access receive a biometric credential to show proof of identification. Born from this directive was the Transportation Workers Identity Credential (TWIC), issued to individuals who meet the eligibility requirements.
