Monitronics, Alarm.com Team Up To Provide Web-Enabled Security
Monitronics and Alarm.com recently announced an agreement that will allow security dealers participating in the extensive nationwide Monitronics Authorized Dealer Program to offer Alarm.com's wireless and Web-enabled security and monitoring technology and services to their customers.
Today's security consumer has moved beyond the traditional alarm system and now seeks an intelligent, "always-on" security system that communicates wirelessly without the need for a phone line or internet connection, and that provides real-time information and alerts via Web, PDA and cell phone interfaces.
Alarm.com pioneered the development of Web-enabled capabilities, and together with Monitronics, will enable more than 800 dealers to provide its advanced solution to consumers in the United States and Canada. The Alarm.com solution is available with the GE Security platform and is tightly integrated with the GE Security Concord, Simon, Simon XT and NetworX product families.
"Together, Monitronics, Alarm.com, and GE Security, with our respective Dealers, are redefining consumer expectations of security monitoring,” said Steve Trundle, CEO and president of Alarm.com. “Monitronics is an aggressive industry leader that provides its Dealers with the most cutting edge technical capabilities, giving them a significant edge in the marketplace. I am pleased that Monitronics has chosen to make a serious commitment to the Alarm.com technology. Alarm.com is looking forward to a meaningful long-term alliance with Monitronics."
"The Monitronics alliance is a major endorsement of the best-of-breed technology and services that GE Security and Alarm.com are offering the growing number of consumers that are demanding more than traditional alarm offerings," said Jim Paulson, global marketing leader at GE Security. "Monitronics represents the gold standard for dealer programs in North America, and we are especially excited to broaden our alliances with both Monitronics and Alarm.com with the addition of hundreds of new nationwide dealers and the consumers they will reach and serve."
Monitronics will implement redundant IP and analog connections between its 5-Diamond Monitoring Center and the Alarm.com network operations center, and its customer support staff will be trained in Alarm.com's web-based AirFX remote troubleshooting utilities, allowing them to service customers more effectively and efficiently.
"As evidenced by the tens of thousands of consumers who have adopted its technology and products already, Alarm.com has established itself as the leading provider of remote monitoring and alarm signaling solutions," said Mitch Clarke, vice president of marketing and market development at Monitronics. "Our growing network of dealers will benefit greatly by having the Alarm.com capabilities in their arsenal when communicating Monitronics' value proposition to today's connected consumers, and we are excited to be able to roll out this enhanced offering."
