Fujitsu Named Finalist in Info Security Products Guide Global Awards

Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., today announced that Info Security Products Guide named the Fujitsu PalmSecure™ authentication system a finalist for the 2008 Global Product Excellence and the 2008 Outstanding Awards in the Best Global Security Products Category. These prestigious global awards recognize security and IT vendors with advanced, ground-breaking products and solutions that are helping set the bar higher for others in all areas of technology.

The Fujitsu PalmSecure authentication system is a palm vein based authentication system that utilizes the latest in biometric security technology. The contact-less device offers an easy-to-use, hygienic solution for identity verification, answering a worldwide need from verticals including the government, healthcare institutions, and the private sector. The PalmSecure was recently deployed throughout the Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS) as a part of a solution to effectively register patients' information, and protect their medical records and identities. It has the largest user base for any biometrically powered patient registration solution in North America, and its use is also widespread throughout Japan, with more than 15,000 sensors already installed in banks, universities, hospitals and private condominiums.
