North Carolina Casino Expands Video Surveillance
Petards Inc. recently announced that Harrah's Cherokee Casino and Hotel in Cherokee, N.C., has once again chosen Petards for video surveillance, and taken delivery of equipment to upgrade and expand its Universal Video Management System (UVMS) capabilities.
Harrah's Cherokee, a Petards customer since 2001, is expanding its UVMS video surveillance network to provide the casino's surveillance team with better video resolution, giving them improved visibility of activities throughout the facility. The Petards system will upgrade the casino's existing UVMS software and increase storage and review capability with additional servers to support enhanced surveillance throughout the existing casino, as well as for an addition currently under construction.
"For many years, Petards has been a valued business partner of Harrah's Cherokee because the company offers solutions that meet the high-performance needs of the gaming environment," said Juan Owle, director of surveillance for Harrah's Cherokee. "UVMS is a powerful surveillance tool, and by upgrading our system we will be able to benefit even more from its advanced functionalities. We appreciate their ability to work closely with us to deploy a surveillance solution that minimally impacts operations and offers a great return on investment."
UVMS is a technology agnostic video management platform, which enables the use of both analog and IP cameras on the same system. UVMS supports advanced recording and image replay functions, and offers a graphical user interface that enables users to easily navigate the system.
