AlliedBarton Security Services Receives National Recognition For Training Programs

AlliedBarton Security Services, a provider of highly trained security personnel, recently earned national recognition for its training programs for the third consecutive year on Training magazine’s Top 125 list and for its leadership development practices with the Corporate University Xchange and ASTD Excellence in Practice Awards.

“Individually, these awards are amazing,” said Jim Gillece, AlliedBarton chief people officer and senior vice president of human capital management. “But together, this is an outstanding and unmatched accomplishment. We are proud to take the lead in this arena as the importance of training and leadership development is paramount in every industry. AlliedBarton was the first security services company honored on the Training Top 125 list, which includes Fortune 500 companies and leading businesses that are household names.”

Companies are selected for the Training Top 125 based on factors such as training programs, methods of employee evaluation and measurement, and financial commitment to training. Training magazine also conducted workplace surveys and analyzed a variety of training and personnel data from each applicant prior to selection as a Training Top 125 company.

The ASTD Excellence in Practice Award recognizes AlliedBarton’s Leadership Boot Camp in the Workplace Learning and Development category. AlliedBarton also received two citations. The Excellence in Practice Awards are presented for proven practices that meet a demonstrated need, have appropriate design values, are aligned with other performance improvement initiatives, and deliver clear and measurable results.

The Corporate University Xchange Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Corporate Learning honor learning organizations whose programs improve employee and business performance. AlliedBarton competed against companies worldwide and was recognized in two categories: launching, for its leadership development programs, and alliances, for its partnership with the Center for Talent Retention in the development of Leadership Boot Camp.

“Our company cannot grow, and we cannot offer the best possible service to our customers, if our employees and leaders do not grow,” Gillece said. “We’ve established a culture of learning and development that is evident through the quality service we provide. Every position, beginning with the entry-level security officer, is an important step in that individual’s career.”

Security Operations Centers (SOC) were once defined by rows of static monitors, each displaying a single feed with operators quietly watching for issues. That model has become obsolete. Incidents evolve too quickly, data comes from multiple locations, and decisions must be made in seconds—not minutes. Read Now
