Intransa, Convergint Technologies Announce Sales Alliance

Intransa, a provider of physical security data management and video storage, and Convergint Technologies LLC, a North American systems integrator of electronic security, fire alarm, life safety and building automation systems, recently announced a new sales alliance.

“With hundreds of professionals operating out of nearly two dozen offices across the United States and Canada, Convergint will dramatically increase our market reach in the design, installation and maintenance of physical security systems,” said George Vaiser, Intransa vice president, video system applications. “With Convergint’s specialization in providing best-of-breed building system technologies that meet customer needs, Intransa’s IP storage is a great addition to its product portfolio.”

Intransa offers Smart CCTV DVR upgrades to extend the life and usefulness of existing infrastructures, cameras and DVRs. Intransa systems plug in, providing savings and benefits for a single DVR for edge recording such as a bank or retail location. The systems scale modularly and provide support for a wide range of security needs, from a few days of video and a handful of cameras to years of retention for hundreds of DVRs and NVRs and thousands of cameras.

Delivering the cost savings, improved reliability and increased capabilities of IP solutions, Smart CCTV DVR upgrades eliminate the risk and disruption of ripping and replacing existing security system investments. For new security system deployments, Intransa’s all-IP surveillance solutions integrate with more than 100 vendors that offer video management, physical security information management and infrastructure systems in addition to cameras, video analytics, physical security utilities, authentication, access control, biometrics, databases, imaging and IT products. Each product has been tested and certified through Intransa’s StorAlliance Technology Labs.

“The reliability and cost savings that Intransa security-grade storage systems offer will be of immense value to our customers,” said Tony Varco, Convergint Technology vice president, electronic security division. “We are committed to providing the best electronic security, fire alarm, life safety and building automation systems to our clients. The proven integration, increased reliability and expanded retention that Intransa delivers fits very well in our portfolio.”

In the past year, a diverse customer base has deployed Intransa solutions to increase reliability, retention and resolution while reducing cost, complexity and administration. These customers include hotels and casinos, correctional facilities, police departments, hospitals and medical centers, managed service providers, telecommunications companies, retailers, pharmaceutical makers, financial institutions, Native American organizations, educational institutions, digital entertainment providers, utilities and government users.

Those same solutions were integrated with DVRs, NVRs, video management and physical security information systems from AMAG Technology, American Dynamics, Cisco Systems, Exacq Technologies, Honeywell, IndigoVision, Integral Wireless Solutions, Milestone Systems, OnSSI, Pelco, videoNEXT, VideoProtein and VidSys, as well as a number of camera, access control and life safety products.
