California Tribal Casino Uses RFID Technology

Gaming Partners International Corp. recently announced that it is the exclusive supplier of table game furniture for the newly opened Red Hawk Casino in Placerville, Calif. Red Hawk Casino, which is owned by the Shingle Springs Tribal Gaming Authority and managed by Lakes Entertainment Inc., officially opened on December 17.

GPI supplied the Red Hawk Casino with all of its 75 gaming tables as well as table layouts, cards and high-frequency RFID gaming chips. RFID chip security technology enables the casino to verify the authenticity and value of each chip, track individual chips throughout the gaming floor and follow payments, fills and credits, table drops, tips and wins and losses per table at any time of the day.

GPI's gaming chips are also compatible with other player tracking hardware and software applications which allows for accurate tracking of play data from tables so casinos can follow player bets and accurately rate and reward players.

"We're thrilled that Red Hawk has chosen to utilize our high-frequency RFID gaming chips on its gaming tables," said Gerard P. Charlier, president and CEO of GPI. "With the security and player tracking benefits that RFID chip technology provides to casinos, GPI is fully committed to providing quality and innovation in RFID technology solutions, as well as in all of our products, and Red Hawk's support validates that commitment."

"With the security and tracking technology that Red Hawk utilizes on our gaming tables, we knew that delivering quality gaming tables that accommodated the required equipment was going to be a big challenge," said Peter Nairn, vice president of table games for the Red Hawk Casino. "However, with the flexibility and customization that GPI provides with their table games line, all of our needs were achieved while matching our overall well appointed decor."
